    City, Country, Coast: Experience Slovenia in 8 Days

    Inspired by the stunning photos of Lake Bled and having loved a trip to neighbouring Croatia, Slovenia rose to the top of my travel bucket list!

    The country and it’s culture were somewhat unknown to me and my travel buddy, Mhairi. When speaking of our plans, we were met with helpful advice from frequent visitors and a local – as well as confused looks and, “Where’s that?” type comments! Undeterred, we created a 10-day itinerary to explore the country and experience all that it had to offer.

    3 days exploring Malta

    With Malta’s southerly position and Sicilian influence, it’s a great country to spend a few days and unwind.

    I chose Malta as my first solo adventure abroad as I knew it was a popular tourist destination – but also because I was desperate for some spring-time sunshine! The locals will say you need at least a week to explore Malta, but you can squeeze a lot into a few days.

    Taking a trip on your own can be a daunting prospect, but it is also very liberating! It allows you the freedom to be more spontaneous, and also take things at your own pace.

    Much of this advice can apply to any trip, solo or not, but there are some pieces which are essential if you’re going it alone.
